General Services

Visiting the Library
Library members and the general public are very welcome to visit the Library with their children.  However, please note that minors should be accompanied all times by an adult.  We regret that minors cannot be left alone in the Library without adult supervision and that Library staff are not able to provide supervisory services.

Library Opening Hours
Library opening hours are specified in the contact information at the bottom of this webpage. The Library is closed on weekends and public holidays.
Please note that exceptional circumstances may result in changes to advertised opening hours.  Any changes will be reflected on the Library website or Library Google Listing.

Joining the Library
Library membership is free and open to all who reside in Western Australia.  Please note that in order to join as a Library member, there is a requirement for the applicant to be 18 years or older.
To join the Library, please complete and submit the online form.

Reference and Enquiry Services
You are welcome to ring or visit the library for assistance in accessing information within the resources of the library.

BYOD and Printing Services
Please note the following:

  • We are a BYOD (Bring Your Own Device) Library.  The sole computer in the Library for public use is for searching the online catalogue only.  Free public wifi is available for use with your devices.
  • We are unable to offer any printing or photocopying services.  For these needs, please visit a nearby public library.  We have created a map to assist you here.

Private Study Booth
Use of the private study booth is on a first-come-first-served basis.  Registered library members may reserve the study booth by calling or emailing their request to the Library.
Please note that we are able to hold the booking for up to 15 minutes.  Thereafter the booth will be released to other users.

AV Previewing Facilities
Because there is an extensive range of audiovisual resources, the library provides viewing and listening facilities to allow previewing before borrowing.

Recommend a Title
The Library welcomes title recommendations from members, to be included in the collection.  These may be submitted via the Recommend a title form.  All recommendations are considered in light of the Library’s Collection Development Policy.
